How to Install (anyone) - How I did in my install:

My RAD Studio 10.4.1 is in C:\EMB <--- my root for Embarcadero softwares

--- C:\EMB\RAD1041     <--- my RAD 10.4.1 root
--- C:\EMB\RAD1041\bin
--- C:\EMB\RAD1041\...

1) Copy your "Hotfix - zip file" for one folder anyone
   ...> I unzip this file in my C:\EMB folder - you can choice anyother place if you can!

2) open CMD as Admin, and go to folder where is the files unziped!
   ...> in my case:   c:\EMB\CompilerLSPHotfixGeneral-20201104  <--- my files unzip

3) you'll see 3 files : "PatchTool.exe", "ReadMe.txt" and "delphi.compilers.hotfix.zip"

4) you'll use the "PatchTool.exe" to install or uninstall the patches in RAD Studio, like this!

5) type the command-line:

   PatchTools -f delphi.compilers.hotfix.zip  -b 21.0 -a

   NOTE: using -u on command-line, you can "uninstall" this patch!
         for all options type:  PATCHTOOLS.EXE    <--- without any params

6) wait the installation and it's ready!

7) if all it's ok, you'll have a new folder named: "C:\<<RAD-STUDIO-FOLDER>>\_patch-backup" in your RAD Studio installation.

   ... see the "install.log" file to see what files was added or replaced!

Apple Platforms Patch for RAD Studio 10.4.1 Readme

This patch addresses a few issues related to RAD Studio 10.4.1 support for XCode 12, iOS 14 and macOS Big Sur, which were not available when 10.4.1 shipped.

The patch includes fixes in different areas. The first is an RTL fix for an issue with exceptions, also causing issues at app termination, for macOS applications running on the recently released macOS 11.0 Big Sur. The corresponding public issue was logged on Quality Portal as RSP-30000. For this issue, the patch includes modified source code and compiled binary files.

The second part of the patch is delivered via a new version of PAServer for macOS, and includes fixes for several issues:
SDK import from Xcode 12
Debugging applications on an iOS 14 device
This includes Quality Portal reports such as RSP-30806, RSP-31014, RSP-31667 and RSP-31049.

Installation via GetIt

If you download the patch via GetIt, it is installed automatically, creating a backup of the files replaced. However, the new version of PAServer for macOS is only copied into the PAserver folder (by default, a folder like C:\Program Files (x86)\Embarcadero\Studio\21.0\PAServer), and you need to copy it over to a Mac and install it manually.

Manual Download and Installation

If you download this patch via the my.embarcadero.com download portal, you’ll have to copy the content of the ZIP file into the respective subfolders of the RAD Studio installation folder. Also, you have to copy and install PAServer on your Mac.

BatSoft

BatSoft is sole trader consultancy (ABN: 50 392 093 218) that does software analysis, architecture and development for computers and mobile devices.  My specialties are software analysis and advanced OO architecture.  I develop primarily using Delphi, Unity C# and SQL.

I recently did a two year TAFE course on game development. Geez, that’s so much more fun than I expected.  The best part is that I can use my rather abundant imagination!

My work experiences span from 1995 and range from Australia, Sweden and Taiwan.  I am generally the chief architect, sometimes a mentor for colleagues, and always prefer to solve the more challenging projects.  I have worked in all stages of software development and prefer working in a team, but for some reason I have often been given projects that one would normally assign to small teams.

From my experiences I’ve learnt that a good solution, even to a complex real world problem, tends to consist of a few simple rules that, when combined, give rise to what appears to be complex behaviour.  My method is to begin with investing time in properly understanding client needs, then architecting a solution.  After that I need relatively little time writing and testing, because simple rules translate to simple code.  I can’t recall ever missing a deadline when I’ve been allowed to work in this way, though I have missed deadlines when rushed. In my experience, shortcuts cost even more time to work around, even in initial development. And… my code is always tidy and usually well commented, usually with design notes serving as documentation.

Can I do web?  Not really.  I’d prefer that you spend your money on a web developer.
Can I design databases?  Yes, I certainly can.
Am I an expert in XYZ library?  Probably not.  I don’t specialise in knowing tech.  I specialised in architecting solutions.
Am I an expert in any particular domain?  No, I specialised in business analysis.
Do I understand client needs?  Yes!  That is one of my fortés.
Can I solve hard architectural problems?  Yes!  That is another forté.
Can I design good UI’s?  I think my UI’s are fine, but most clients find them ugly.
Can I teach OO?  Yep, from the very basics to advanced patterns in hours.  I have my own teaching method.

3. Preparing RAD Studio for deploying FMX Application.

Creating FMX project and configuring SDK Manager for connection with LinuxPAServer.

1. Launch RAD Studio 10.4.
2. Go to Project->Add New Project.
3. On New Items dialog select Delphi -> Multi-Device Application [OK], Blank Application [OK].
In the Projects explorer, expand Target Platforms double-click on Linux 64 bit to activate.
4. Right-click on Linux 64 bit -> "Edit SDK"
